Latest Updates from Our Project:

And that's a wrap!
over 1 year ago – Sat, Oct 08, 2016 at 07:51:10 PM

Today we shipped out all of the laser kitten plushies (see the end of this message for details). That means that our Laser Kittens campaign has come to an end. If you have a friend who missed the campaign, don't worry. We'll be selling the books and cards at various gaming conventions -- the next ones are Con on the Cob in Cleveland in November, and Breakout Con in Toronto in March. You can also order online:

PDF available at DriveThruRPG

PDF and physical book available at Indie Press Revolution

Kitten Cards available on Amazon

While the Laser Kittens Kickstarter is finished, that's not the end of the road for Glittercats Fine Amusements. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter, or join our mailing list to keep up with all of our exciting new projects!

Pew pew pew!

For anyone who got a plushie: we hope you love them as much as we do! To activate the laser, press down firmly on the left paw.

Unfortunately Backerkit won't let me upload a second tracking number, but I do have those numbers on file if any item fails to arrive. If you don't get your plushie by the end of the week (in the US) or end of the month (outside the US), please let me know and we'll sort things out.

Nearly done!

A quick update on where we stand as this project winds down:

* 11 people still haven't filled out their backerkit survey. We can't send you any rewards until you fill out the survey! If you're one of those 11 and lost your survey link, you can recover it here:

* Everyone whose reward included a PDF of the rulebook should have received it by now. If you did not get your PDF, message me and I'll make sure you get it.

* All of the physical books and cards have shipped. If you're in the United States, you should have your rewards by now. If you did not get yours, message me and I'll take care of it. If you're outside the United States, your rewards shipped last week. International shipping can sometimes take a while, and unfortunately our international shipping partner is not able to offer tracking numbers. If you still have not received your rewards by September 15, message me and I'll send out a new copy for you.

* Plushies are coming! If you ordered a plushie, Bex is hard at work making them. I will notify you when they ship out.

Now that we're close to the end, I wanted to give you a breakdown on where the money from this Kickstarter went.

Kickstarter (pledges minus KS and card processing fees): $8872.40
Backerkit (add-ons and new orders, minus backerkit fees): $1319.71
Total revenue: $10,192.11

Art and editing: $3900.00
Printing: $4669.51
Shipping: $1844.25
Backerkit setup: $249.39
Total expenditures: $10,663.15

When you compare those two numbers, you'll see we ended up in the hole by a few hundred dollars (and we still have to pay for producing and shipping the plushies). But not to worry! This Kickstarter allowed us to print 500 copies of the book and 500 decks of cards, which was roughly twice what we needed for fulfilling your pledges. The remainder will be sold through the IGDN and/or Indie Press Revolution booths at conventions, through our website, and through brick-and-mortar game stores (plus ongoing PDF sales through DriveThruRPG). If you have a local game store you love, encourage them to ask their distributors about Laser Kittens, or put them in touch with me and I can take care of things directly.

Thank you all so much for supporting our campaign -- by backing the Kickstarter, by talking about Laser Kittens with your friends, and most importantly by just playing the game. We love seeing your photos and hearing about your kitten adventures. If you want to keep up with future projects from Glittercats Fine Amusements, please follow us on Facebook or Twitter, or join our mailing list.

PDFs distributed, books and cards on their way!

Get your kitten faces on, because you're about to play Laser Kittens!

Everyone who backed at a pledge level that included a PDF of the Laser Kittens rulebook should have just received an email via Backerkit with a link to download your reward. If by the end of the day you still haven't gotten that link (check your spam folder just in case), message me and I'll get it sorted out.

Anyone who backed at a level that got a physical book and/or cards, your rewards are on their way! They all look great. We got a bonus upgrade to linen finish on the cards, and snazzy tuck boxes. (We highly recommend both of our printers -- Keness printing for the books, DriveThruCards for the cards.) All of the US orders will be in the mail this weekend. International orders are being handled by a third-party fulfillment service. We've shipped them our products to send out, but there's no guarantee of how long the shipping will take.

Note that plushies will be shipped separately at a later point in time, since they're being hand-made -- we'll keep you posted.

Finally, for anyone going to GenCon next week, be sure to check out Glittercats and point us out to your friends! We'll have Laser Kittens and the Kitten Cards, as well as our older game The Fool's Journey, for sale at booth 2311 (Indie Game Developer Network). We'll be running four games of Laser Kittens through the IGDN game room (Ballroom 7). You can also hop in on a game at Games on Demand (Marriott Downtown Ballroom 6), where you can find a wide variety of awesome indie games.

We got proofs of the kitten cards back from the printer, and they're incredible:

It looks like everything is on track to ship later this month. Remember, you have until July 20 -- that's one week from today -- to fill out your Backerkit survey in order to be included in the first wave of shipments. If you lost your Backerkit survey link, you can recover it here:

We're off to the printers!

Just a quick update for you on the progress of our kitten products:

We're still accepting pre-orders! If you know anyone who missed the Kickstarter but is interested in Laser Kittens, kitten cards, or kitten plushies, send them here:

Physical Books: The final version of the Laser Kittens book was sent off to the printer last week. My contact there assures me we will have enough copies by the end of July to fulfill all Kickstarter orders and have the book on the shelf at GenCon. The list of backers in the book is based on everyone who had completed their Backerkit survey by last Tuesday (June 14) -- if I hadn't gotten your survey, I listed you under your Kickstarter name. You still have until July 20 to complete your survey, or to change your shipping address. (Lost the email with your survey link? You can recover it here: ) US shipping will be via USPS. International shipping will be handled by Magpie Games. Magpie has a good track record with international shipping, but delivery can still take a while outside the US.

PDFs: I am putting the finishing touches on the PDF version of Laser Kittens (including bookmarking and making it screen-reader compliant). The PDF will be distributed as soon as that is complete.

Cards: I just sent off the kitten cards to be printed. Kitten cards will come in a convenient tuckbox. I hope to have the cards finished and shipped at the same time as the books, but it's possible (due to delays at the printer -- the leadup to GenCon is their busiest time of the year) that we may need to wait and ship the cards separately after GenCon. There will be no extra charge to you if we have to break up the shipments!

Plushies: If you've already filled out your Backerkit survey but you decide you want to add a laser kitten plushie, go ahead and place a separate pre-order order through Backerkit. It will take Bex a little while to get the plushies made, so they will ship separately later in the year. Here's a picture so you can see what the plushies will look like:
