Hi everyone, I just wanted to check in with a quick update. Colleen has done an editing pass on the main text of the Laser Kittens rules, so I'm beginning the layout process as well as working on putting together the supplementary materials like character sheets and NPC lists. Cynthia has done a wonderful job on the main interior art pieces, and is working on the "kitten selfies" of the cats sent in by backers at the ZOO ZOO ZOO level. And Rori has given us sketches of all of the kitten cards for our preliminary approval, and they look great. We're so excited to see this project coming together. Pew pew pew!

Things are still moving along swimmingly for Laser Kittens. I just wanted to share with you a few sketches for the kitten cards that Rori has submitted. We think they're great, and we can't wait to see the final versions!

Hello kitten lovers! Laser Kittens is moving forward at a good pace. Rori, Cynthia, and Colleen are all hard at work on their portions of the book and cards, and we’re on schedule to start layout next month.

Kickstarter just deposited the money for the campaign in my account, so here’s a snapshot of our current financial picture. We raised $10,038 from 302 backers during the campaign. Unfortunately, there were five folks whose pledges did not go through, usually due to problems with their credit cards. After subtracting those failed pledges and the fees from Kickstarter and the credit card processors, a total of $8,872.40 was deposited into my account. So far we’ve paid out $1750 to our artists and editor (they’re all getting half up front, half on delivery). So things are looking right on track for us.

Also: If you pledged at the “WHO WHO WHO” or “ZOO ZOO ZOO” levels, we need to hear from you! Make sure to send your NPC name and description (plus photo for the ZOO level) to [email protected] ASAP!

First, a quick note for anyone who backed at the WHO WHO WHO or ZOO ZOO ZOO levels: We need your NPC information! Look for another update momentarily for how to submit that.

It's a week from our campaign end, so what's going on with Laser Kittens? Quite a lot!

• Kickstarter is in the process of collecting everyone's pledges. This may take up to another week. In any campaign there are always a few pledges that don't go through, usually due to a problem with a credit card (overdrawn, number typed in wrong, etc). If you get a message from Kickstarter telling you there's a problem with your pledge, please resolve it ASAP! We can't send you your reward if we don't get your pledge.
• The first draft of the rulebook went out to Colleen for editing.
• First payments went out to Colleen, Cynthia, and Rori for their editing and art. Once the pledge money comes in, I can give you a full accounting report so you can see where the money is going.
• Professor Monks continued to be a silly goof.

Right now, everything is still on schedule. When we get close to the time of delivering rewards, we'll send out a survey through Backerkit. That will be your chance to update your mailing address (if necessary), as well as to add additional items like cards or plushies. So keep an eye on your mailbox!
